The Thai restaurant here is an absolute gem! Really excellent food and the prices are friendly on the wallet. Plus, the bathroom was super clean and had a powerful shower – just what I needed. Simple check-in process made traveling here a breeze. Had a brilliant time sea glass hunting with friends nearby.
Felt very much at home, no reason to complain.

Had a great time with friends! We spent time at the coastal footpath between Seaham and Crimdon and enjoyed snacks at a lovely spot that had a playground for the kids. The atmosphere was friendly, and the food was tasty. Meals are reasonably priced too. I recommend it for a laid-back group trip.
One downside was the initial room we got. it was quite dated and had an old fan instead of air conditioning, which made it uncomfortable during hot weather.

I appreciated how accessible the Highfield Hotel was, with a lift servicing all three floors. The decor was inviting, and I found the common areas both cozy and clean, creating a lovely atmosphere for my stay.
More comfortable seating in the common areas would help.

Comfortable twin room with excellent on-site parking and friendly staff. The food was notably good, especially breakfast with gluten-free cereal options. the steak at dinner was incredibly thin and lacked substance, and while some staff were pleasant, consistency in service could be improved.

It was great to unwind in the sauna and enjoy a lovely evening by the fireplace. Just a heads up, the breakfast options felt a bit too limited for my taste but it didn't ruin my experience at all! 😊

missingWrote a review on Jun 21thai foodpublic transportroad noise
Centrally located with easy access to public transport, this spot offers good parking facilities. The Thai restaurant delivers tasty dishes directly accessible from the bar area, making it convenient for meals without venturing outside.
The road noise is not ideal, especially if you like to keep windows open during warmer nights. Without air conditioning in the room, it can get a bit stuffy. Breakfast choices felt limited, particularly with the breakfast ordering process. extra items came with added charges that weren't clear at the start. I noticed some maintenance issues in the room that gave it an aged feel, evident in certain furnishings and bathroom fixtures.
